Week 48 - A Work In Progress



A busy week inside the Fellowship building:

  1. Painting walls and ceiling of Fellowship Hall
  2. Cleaning up the job site  and removing trash
  3. Sanding and mudding in the mechanical room and storage room
  4. Checking heat pumps and ERVs to make sure they are set up correctly
  5. Attaching tongue and grove, beetle kill pine, in the sanctuary and south east entry vestibule
  6. Setting up the low voltage/audio visual room
  7. Installing a storefront frame on storage room
  8. Installing lights and remodel cans around building  
    • NB:  ceiling light switches are motion sensitive!
  9. Wiring up fixtures in lobby area
  10. Painting storage rooms and finishing lacquer on tongue and groove ceiling in sanctuary

Number of hours that our contractor and sub-contractors have put in so far:  

18,071 hours

Week 47 - Construction Progress:


  • HVAC technicians working on the heating and air conditioning system
  • Carpenters installing beetle kill pine in the sanctuary ceiling
  • Sheet rock folks installing and finishing walls and ceiling in the Fellowship Hall
  • Electricians  installing electrical outlets throughout the building
  • Continual clean up of trash around the site
  • Technicians prepping the outside of the building for stucco application

Week 46: 2019 In Retrospect


This is the Work Log for last week at the Fellowship:

  • Advanced Stucco Design:  applying mesh to the sanctuary exterior
  • Denver Tile & Stone:  tiling the lobby
  • Milo Construction:  cleaning the site and laying floor protection on tile and carpeting
  • Jagger Roofing:  finishing flatroof flashing
  • KC Drywall:  continuing to drywall the Fellowship
  • Major Mechanical:   completing the installation of the heat pumps
  • Mountain States Framing:  installing tongue & groove beetle kill pine on sanctuary ceiling
  • R & R Concrete:  organizing wood planks from curb and cross pans
  • Slade Glass:  installing main entrance doors
  • South Paw Electric:  continuing work to install electrical outlets
Total number of hours to date of work on the Fellowship:  

17,467 Hours!

Week 45 - A Mini-Mobile Momentous Moment

BVUUF Building Project Construction Status

Significant Milestones

  • Interior finishing work is ongoing
  • Exterior work is slowed by cold weather
  • Landscaping postponed until spring
Other Major Activities This Month
  • Starting stucco application & painting on exterior
  • Spraying another layer of paint in lobby area ceiling, bathrooms and clerestory
  • Installing ceiling tile in the School of the Spirit (SOS) wing
  • Hanging sheetrock in the sanctuary on walls and over the dais
  • Building a hydrothermal mechanical room
  • Wiring up heat pumps in classrooms
  • Starting beetle kill ceiling in Sanctuary
  • Starting floor tile and carpet installation
Parking Lot Paving Issues
  • Both wet & frozen soils are issues
    • Soil is frozen 12" below the surface
  • The Building Committee continues to aggressively monitor the situation and consider alternatives.
