It was a busy week at the Fellowship "where the women are strong, the men are good looking, and the kids are all above average".

On Sunday, May 28th, we held an informal Question and Answer session at the front of the sanctuary after the 10 am service.  There were about 10 members who had questions about and suggestions for issues related to our building.  Many of the topics were similar to those in the May Town Hall Meeting. Please refer to the May Town Hall link in the right hand menu to review those topics.

On Tuesday morning, May 30th, David met with an asbestos inspector at the Fellowship.  He took 24 samples from floor, ceiling, and walls throughout the building.  We should get results informing us as to whether or not we have asbestos issues in 1-2 weeks.

On Thursday morning, June 1st, Reverend Lydia and David met with representatives of one of the architectural firms under consideration to work with our project.  A productive discussion took place regarding building issues from the minister's viewpoint.  The Committee plans on choosing and contracting with an architectural firm by no later than Thursday, June 8th.

Don't forget the Annual Congregational Meeting this Saturday, June 3rd at 5 pm.  An important "Stay/Go" vote will be taken.

What the little kids say they want!

We've surveyed the adults in the Fellowship to ask what their priorities are for space in the Fellowship.  Ever wonder what the kids in the School of the Spirit would like to have in a new or remodeled space?

Thanks to De Anna Hoyle, Director for School of the Spirit for collecting this information.

Here's what the kids said they would like:
  • A place for people to stay overnight if need be
  •  A Room of Requirement - (from Harry Potter) - a place to go for quiet and peace
  • Library
  • More equipment / outdoor space
  • Soccer nets
  • A place to hang hammocks
  • A climbing wall
  • More bike racks
  • A running track
  • Patio for tables, picnic area
  • Wrestling/gymnastic pad
  • Gymnastic bars
  • Keep joys and sorrows
  • Keep sand boxes
  • Keep/more climbing and play stuff
  • Keep easy access to outside

New Member:  The Committee said farewell to Anne Bridgins who has served us well for the last several months. Anne has moved to New York City for a job opportunity there. The Committee thanks Anne for all her hard work and wishes her well.

Robyn Rathweg indicated an interest in the open position and after her name was forwarded to the Board, she was approved and welcomed to join the Committee. We are all looking forward to working with Robyn as we move forward on this important project. Welcome Robyn!

Architect Interviews:  The Committee has finished interviewing representatives from 3 different architectural firms.  Now, members of the Committee will study all the documents that were submitted and compare services, prices and personalities.  The Committee will probably make a decision as to which of the architectural firms can best meet the Fellowship's needs by the end of May.
